Rachel Olson transformed her business, She's Gone Bananas, from an anxiety-induced baking endeavor into a flourishing cottage bakery in Prosper. With a background in hospitality management, Rachel's career took a turn when her husband's job ended, leading her to discover her passion for baking and entrepreneurship.
"When my husband lost his job, I went into panic mode," Rachel recalls. Seeking a quick source of income, she began baking banana bread and posted about it on her local Homeowners Association Facebook group. What started as a simple endeavor in 2017 soon evolved into a full-fledged business specializing in custom buttercream cakes and other delectable treats, including homemade rice cereal treats and sugar cookies.
"Ever since I was a child I've had a passion for food, cooking and making people happy" explains Rachel.
Driven by her commitment to exceptional customer service and top-notch products, Rachel's business flourished. She attributes her success to her dedication to quality, professionalism and personalized service. "My background in hospitality allows me to offer a different level of service," she states.

Rachel says using buttercream instead of fondant and royal icing also distinguishes her cakes.
Despite facing challenges and undergoing numerous trials, Rachel's passion for baking and entrepreneurship remains unwavering. She says she dreams of expanding her business into a brick-and-mortar establishment, providing the community with a welcoming space to indulge in sweet treats and socialize.
