“Dogs never bite me. Just Humans” – Marilyn Monroe
Growing up, pets came into our household by default. Neighbors moved and we adopted Taja, an Australian Sheepdog who nipped at my jacket every winter as we zoomed down the hill on a toboggan. A cat showed up on our front porch and with indifference, my mother named her Calico. Later, my brother returned from Colorado after a break-up and brought a giant dog, Mercy - part Malamute, Newfoundland and Bouvier. We loved them all!
Now, I have two cats, Johnny and Tommy, who are as annoying as they are lovely.
But, aren't we all?
Enjoy these fabulous photos by Samantha Bloom, who carries her camera wherever she goes (lucky for us). She found people softened and mellowed when side by side with their dogs and she enjoyed every single encounter. Woof!
