Born in India, and raised in Canada, Sharan Sihota and her husband, Fateh, a subsea chemical engineer, have called Texas home for more than two decades. The Sihotas have put down roots in the Cypress community and are thankful for the opportunity to help improve the lives of those in need. The proud mother of three–with their eldest son attending Texas Tech, and two more in high school–Sharan has devoted countless hours over the years volunteering at local hospitals and retirement homes. With an obvious and genuine love for people, Sharan has always had a special place in her heart for the elderly, and thoroughly enjoys getting to know them and gleaning their wisdom as they share stories of their lives with her. It was in the season of caring for their own parents that showed Sharan and Fateh how important it is for people in need of care to feel respected, safe, independent, and enabled. It was this experience that led to the opening of Homewatch CareGivers of Cypress.

Sharan personally conducts all consultations for new clients, taking the time to meet with the potential clients and their families, getting to know them and discerning their needs. She listens and learns about current and past health history, about their personal life and personalities, and from there she develops a customized care plan and allows for the right caregiver to be thoughtfully selected for each client. In the months following the implementation of a care plan and a caregiver being assigned, Sharan regularly visits to ensure the plan is meeting the needs of her client and this allows for any adjustments to be made, in the best interest of the client, as priorities and health needs change.
Caregivers undergo year-round specialized training. When it comes to choosing caregivers for her clients, all Homewatch CareGivers undergo national background checks and, drug and alcohol tests. They are well-trained, compassionate, empathetic, and professional at all times. “Before selecting a caregiver, I ask myself the following,” Sharan says, "Would I want this caregiver taking care of my loved one?”
