Redefining the Mommy Makeover

New nonsurgical options offer busy moms a new way

Being a mom is one of the most satisfying things a woman can do, but it can also have an impact on your body, and each woman is affected differently.

Enter the mommy makeover. This cutesy term actually refers to a package of serious surgical
procedures aimed at returning the body to its pre-pregnancy appearance. A traditional mommy makeover includes liposuction, a tummy tuck and breast implants or lift. These procedures are not only invasive, but they are also expensive and offer significant
downtime.

So what’s a mom to do if she would like to feel better about herself but is unsure of the risks or
expense related to traditional surgery?

At Pura Medical, they believe “pure beauty” is more than skin deep. It’s about effective, minimally invasive solutions that deliver immediate and lasting results without the risks, downtime, discomfort, and disappointment of other options.

With the unique technology at Pura Medical, they are able to provide custom treatment plans such as Mommy Makeovers that may consist of Modern Liposuction to the abdomen, flanks, or thighs and a Natural Fat Transfer to the breasts or buttocks. The innovative vibration supported contouring procedure stimulates collagen synthesis, promoting smoother and tighter results. A Mommy Makeover procedure may also include a natural solution for vaginal rejuvenation, the Pura Regenerative O-Shot. Together, these personalized treatments can help women to sculpt and reshape the body, while celebrating a new shape and sense of self confidence after pregnancy.

Tracy's Story

Tracy Morris is your typical busy mom. With four kids, ranging in age from 20 to 10, the former dance studio owner was always on the go — not leaving her any time to focus on herself. Childbirth and breastfeeding had left their effects on her body, but like so many other moms, she was worried about surgical costs, recovery times and scarring. Then last summer, a friend of Morris’s confided that she’d had a minimally invasive mommy makeover at Pura Medical in Mesa.

Morris reveals that she had researched traditional plastic surgery in the past but knew that what she wanted done would have cost her at least $20,000. “I just couldn’t justify spending that much money,” she says.

For a fraction of that price, Morris had sculpting on her upper and lower abdomen, flanks, and inner and outer thighs, and the removed fat was redistributed to her breasts. All procedures were performed on the same day, and the results were almost immediate.

“I took my bandages off and looked at my legs and thought, ‘I don’t even remember when my legs looked like that.’ It was kind of encouraging. I feel as though I am at where I was five years ago. I’m not limited by the extra distributed weight, and even though the scale hasn’t changed much, when I put my pants on, there isn’t a roll anymore. This procedure changes the way you feel in your clothes.”

She concludes, “I still feel like me, just better.”

Body Sculpting

This nonsurgical shaping procedure is performed in-office by a licensed physician. The most common areas of treatment are the thighs, abdomen, flanks, hips, breasts, back, arms and buttocks. Scarring is minimal, and patients are typically back on their feet in a day or two.

Fat Transfer

This natural solution for restoring volume and shape, takes fat from stubborn areas and transferred to areas where it is needed, resulting in a smooth, youthful appearance. The most common areas for transfer are the breasts and buttocks.

Abdominal Etching

A common component of the dad bod makeover, this procedure sculpts and enhances the appearance of the waistline and creates six-pack abs. It targets the belly’s subcutaneous fat without disturbing the muscle layers, resulting in more chiseled look.
