Chris Wise is in the business of helping people transform their homes through various color hues.
As a custom residential painter and detail-driven owner of Cristos Contracting since 1995, he prides himself on clear communication and being dependable. "I show up when I say I'm going to, do what I say I will do, and I'm organized. I maintain a neat, clean environment during projects, and am happy to pick up and store items wherever is best for my customers if I need to leave items overnight," Chris says.

Chris provides the following main services:
1// Interior/Exterior Painting.
Chris typically uses Benjamin Moore & Company paints. He says customers select paint shades from swatches and then either email or text him the exact number of paint color so he can secure the proper one.
2// Installing or Removing Wallpaper.
When installing wallpaper, Chris preps the walls. He rolls on the paste, rather than dunking. He also seams the inside corners and gently smooths out the paper. He wipes down the walls as he goes, too.
3// Painting Cabinets.
For cabinetry previously painted with a glossy paint, Chris thoroughly scuff-sands or deglosses the surface for proper adhesion of the new paint, and applies a bonding primer to ensure good adhesion. He removes hardware, doors and drawers. He applies two coats of paint, if needed. After drying, he replaces doors and drawers before reinstalling the hardware.
2022 COLORS OF THE YEAR TIE TO NATURE, PEACEFUL MINDSETS
Color reverberates in distinct ways for different people. During turbulence of the COVID-19 pandemic, some people gravitated toward soothing neutrals while others plunged into bright, uplifting colors. New paint shades can energize through evoking confidence, strength and curiosity. Benjamin Moore, for example, appears to be stepping out boldly next year with bright yellows.
Sherwin-Williams
Aleutian from HGTV Home is Sherwin-Williams’ color of the year to embody comfort and relaxation, just like a well-worn pair of faded blue jeans. This washed-out indigo serves as the foundation of a larger 2022 color collection called Softened Refuge, which combines soft neutrals with muted earth tones.
Valspar
Valspar instead curated a palette of 12 nature-inspired hues for comfort and calm. Their 2022 colors encompass warm neutrals, dusty pastels and soothing blues and greens; the shades include deep-blue Mountain River, warm accents of Lilac Lane, off-white Gilded Linen, coppery tones of Rustic Oak and balance of Blanched Thyme or Grey Suit.
Glidden
A ripe avocado-green shade called Guacamole is Glidden's pick for the 2022 color of the year. It's meant to be both relaxing and refreshing. Glidden representatives note that online searches for green paint colors have more than doubled since 2020.
Behr
Behr's 2022 color of the year is a cool, refreshing shade of green called Breezeway. The soft, silvery blue-green is reminiscent of sea glass found along sandy beaches and the crystal-clear water of a tucked-away bay. It's meant to establish tranquility, but liveliness as well.
