“Retire" is an interesting word.
Rather than using the term “retirement,” I prefer to talk to my clients about getting to their “work-optional lifestyle.” Work takes on a new meaning when it’s optional. This work-optional lifestyle may be a time for you to start a business, serve full-time with a nonprofit, join a board, or mentor those under you while you continue doing what you have been doing. You can also choose to travel the world, if that’s in your work-optional plan. In short, what do you love to do? What would you do for work, even if you didn’t get paid?
Whatever you choose to do during your work-optional years, having a plan that adapts as your life unfolds and your needs evolve over time can help to get you there. Wherever you are in your journey—just starting to save, approaching retirement, or in retirement looking to leave a lasting legacy—planning can be the thing that takes you to the next level.
At Smith Wealth Management Group TX, we put you first. You have worked hard to get where you are, and you want to achieve and maintain the work-optional lifestyle that you deserve. If building a lasting legacy is important to you, and you want to have a financial guide to help you prioritize the things that truly matter to you, then we should have a conversation.
I’m a second-generation financial advisor with over 24 years of experience. My “P23 Process” helps to put all the pieces of your financial puzzle together, allowing you to focus on what’s most meaningful in your life. You don’t have to go it alone. Let me help you get on the path toward your work-optional lifestyle so you can strive to retire in style. And if you’re already there, like many of my current clients are, let’s put a plan together that aims to keep you there and pursue a lasting legacy.
My name is Nick Smith. I’ve been in Dripping Springs for 18 years and started Smith Wealth Management Group TX in 2015 after working with other large brokerage firms for the previous 14 years. I love numbers and I love people, so I get to do what I love every day. My wife Chrystal and I have four amazing kids. Blake (22) is attending law school at Pepperdine; Brayden (20) is studying aerospace engineering at Texas A&M; Ryder (15) is a freshman at Dripping Springs High School; and our youngest, Carla (12), is at Sycamore Springs Middle School.
Our family started a local nonprofit, Foster Village, in 2016. Foster Village provides a village of support to children and caregivers experiencing the foster care system. I am a founding board member, and Chrystal runs Foster Village full-time alongside an amazing team. Foster Village has seen tremendous growth over the past nine years, with two first-of-their-kind resource centers locally and 14 affiliate locations across the country. We are partners at Austin Ridge Bible Church, which we have attended since 2011. When I’m not working, I love reading books, playing soccer, and traveling with my family.
I offer a complimentary, no-obligation Fit Meeting. This can allow us to determine if we’d be a good mutual fit. Please reach out if you’re interested. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
