A picturesque home transformed for the holidays. After the design and renovation of this quintessential Fairfield County home, the homeowners asked if we would come back and help decorate their home for the holidays. “Our initial conversation was the very best kind,” recalls Beth Krupa of Beth Krupa Interiors. “It was a referral from another happy homeowner, which is always the ultimate compliment.” The homeowners desired their home to have a casually elegant vibe, comfortable yet luxurious, and most importantly, feel warm and inviting. Many of the rooms, like the family room and dining room, were designed around celebrating holidays and special occasions with family and friends. This was achieved not only with the types of furniture specified but also with the fully customized audio/visual smart speaker technology system installed throughout the first floor. Cue holiday music playing throughout the house.
The foyer was redefined as a beautiful useable space rather than just a simple pass-through. The original mismatched floors were replaced with 24” honed travertine stone tile to seamlessly connect the foyer to the family room and kitchen, resulting in a smooth and visually appealing look. The staircase banister was generously wrapped in bronze ribbon and fresh garland to achieve a welcoming holiday vibe. Tip: Use fresh garland and infuse your home with a wonderful scent for the holidays. Spritz with water every couple of days to keep it looking fresh.
A classic design while using modern elements, the tonal dining room sparkles with a striking chandelier and varied textured fabrics and wallcoverings. Many textures and reflective surfaces were used to create zest and a lively feel. The oval mahogany table and curved upholstered banquette can comfortably seat 10 which was a key request from the homeowners and perfect for family gatherings. The more the merrier! Topiary-style centerpieces tie in the green from the foyer and add to the holiday cheer.
Holiday hosting is made effortless with a sleek and sculptural bar cart in matte gold. Serve your guests traditional holiday spirits or mocktails and accessorize with sprigs of colorful berries for that instant festive feeling.
Quality time was the inspiration behind this family room. They desired a room that was approachable and fresh with ample seating for family get-togethers — yet with a hint of glamour and unexpected style. A coffered ceiling and stone fireplace define and add dimension and elegance to the room. One of the standout pieces is the sea-glass beaded chandelier. It’s one of the first things guests see upon entering the room - it states a casual, yet elegantly beautiful, welcoming atmosphere.
Every year on Thanksgiving weekend, the family cut down a fresh Christmas tree. A yearly tradition allowing whimsical children’s homemade ornaments and heirloom decorations to fill the tree with old and new memories.
A glass-top console table complete with lucite lamps adds sparkle and shine to the space. Add a display tray to highlight cherished items or potted paperwhites and champagne flutes for an extra special toast during the holiday season.
The best part of the season is remembering those who make the holidays meaningful. We wish you all the love and happiness this season can bring, and may it follow you throughout the coming new year. Cheers from all of us at Beth Krupa Interiors.
