Ruby Leaf

A bold, herbaceous cocktail balancing citrus brightness, bittersweet depth, and warm bourbon richness

Ruby Leaf

The Ruby Leaf is essentially a cross between a Boulevardier and a Negroni, with an herbal, citrusy twist. The bourbon’s notes of burnt sugar and oak are cut by the tart-bitterness of the Carpano. When combined with lemon and the herbaceous Amaro Nonino, you’re left with a savory, slow sipping libation. Imagine a spiced lemon cake covered in chocolate and booze.

Ingredients:

  •  2 oz four roses bourbon
  • .25 oz Carpano
  • .25 oz fresh lemon juice
  • .25 oz Amaro Nonino
  •  2 dashes of orange bitters
  •  1 sprig rosemary

Directions:

Add all ingredients, including the rosemary, to a shaker filled with ice. Shake for 20 seconds. Double strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig to open the nose.
