Run With The Rabbit

Nestled within the quirky streets of the Heights Arts District, you will find a rabbit, but not the kind with long ears and a fluffy tail. No, this is Jack Rabbit, a contemporary art gallery that is all about making Houston’s homes and offices beautiful and inspiring. This 2,000 square foot fine art gallery, which opened its doors less than a year ago, is the perfect space for both emerging and established artists to showcase their work. Hosting a wide variety of American and International artists, from painters to sculptors, guests are encouraged to grab a drink and casually explore the airy, industrial space with high ceilings and abundant natural light at their own pace. Jack Rabbit Gallery wants its guests to walk in the door and fall in love with a piece of art on display.

The owners, husband and wife duo James and Jodi Grogan of Houston, founded the gallery with assistance from their daughter Hali, who studied art at the Art Students League of New York. James and Jodi met in college, where James majored in Art History, and Jodi majored in Studio Art.  They are a family of art lovers.

The Grogans felt the Heights was the perfect location to open a new gallery concept because of its burgeoning reputation as the creative and artistic hub of the Houston-metro area. Jack Rabbit hosts a variety of both national and international artists, showcasing an exciting array of exhibitions and art fairs.

Jack Rabbit’s upcoming exhibition, titled “Texas Heat,” will feature works of art by some of the leading contemporary artists from the Lone Star State, including painters Christopher Turner (East Texas), Laura Goodson (Houston), Carla Bosch (Austin), Mark Whitmarsh (Dallas), and Leon Collins (Navasota), bronze sculptor Jennifer Troice (Dallas), and glass sculptor Carlos Castillo Marcoleta (Corpus Christie).  The exhibition will celebrate the vibrant and diverse trends among current Texas artists working across a range of media.

So next time you are making weekend plans, make sure you stop by and check out Jack Rabbit Gallery, it's a collection of art you won’t be able to resist falling in love with.

It's an incredibly enjoyable experience to walk into our gallery. Our artists are bold and intellectually provocative. But more importantly, every piece of art we curate in the gallery was selected for its exceptional beauty. There isn't a piece of art in the gallery that I would not die to have in my own home or office. – JAMES GROGAN Owner
