Stepping away from his Blue Angel's uniform and into a red velvet one wasn't the retirement plan Jerry Czubinski imagined, but life has a way of leading us to uncharted new courses. After 25 years serving in the U.S. Navy, Jerry's sense of duty found a new home in spreading joy as the Blue Angel Santa Claus.
Together with his wife, Carolyn, lovingly known as his Mrs. Claus, the two have made it their mission to spread the magic of Christmas by keeping it alive throughout the year. What began as a few FaceTime calls with his niece and some community appearances soon turned into something much greater.
From charity events to hospital visits, and virtual holiday greetings for specific homes straight from "Santa's Office," every encounter is a chance to remind families that the spirit of Christmas never truly fades.
Still, it is a journey that has carried him from community events, school programs, television appearances, and major holiday celebrations, including the Mayor's Christmas Festival held at the George R. Brown. Wherever Czubinski goes, Blue Angel Santa Claus brings more than festive cheer. He brings Christmas comfort and hope. The transformation from sailor to Santa marks a new mission, going from ships on the sea to sleighs in the sky.
