Say goodbye to the boring old salad bar.

Salata, now with three locations in Oklahoma City metro, allows you to customize your perfect salad or wrap, and the choices are endless. What's more, the restaurant makes it easy to be gluten-free, vegan or even stick to that keto diet.

From its humble beginnings as a pop-up salad bar in the tunnels of Houston to now more than 75 locations nationwide, Salata is redefining the salad bar experience.

"Salata is a completely customizable experience. We get fresh produce every day, and we have a local produce provider who buys regionally from small farms," says Chuck Smith, director of operations. "Our founder had this idea to do a great salad bar, but not just your run-of-the-mill salad bar. He wanted it to be an experience. So he and his brother-in-law spent over a year to develop all the dressings and come up with a model that lets you choose all your toppings, your dressings and more."

As a company, Salata caters to a healthier lifestyle and is keto-friendly, low-carb and one of the few that is certified to handle celiac customers. As a certified gluten-free restaurant, the staff takes strenuous steps to make sure that the foods are never cross-contaminated.

But beyond health, the food is fresh and delicious as well.

"We have so many unique things on the salad bar you don't normally see. You've got all the protein options and interesting vegetables. When you go through the line, you can sample anything. We've had seasonal vegetables like watermelon radishes, which is a very beautiful radish, fresh blueberries and watermelon for the summer. Those rotate out," says Jeff Conner, director of business development. "We have pea sprouts, five different kinds of lettuce, 50 different toppings ranging from the usual to the exotic. And all the salad combinations to also be made into a wrap."

In fact, Jeff says, you could eat at Salata every day for the rest of your life and still not go through the different combinations. All restaurants also have a nutrition guide and an allergy guide available to customers.

"At Salata, salad is whatever you make it. This is your life. Your recipe. So, don’t let anyone tell you how to salad (not even us). Listen to your instincts. Trust your gut. And always live how you want. Salad how you feel."

CLASSIC CAESAR SALAD WITH SALMON

This salad favorite features house-made croutons, romaine lettuce and homemade Caesar dressing. The salmon is cooked in house daily and complements this popular mix.

SOUTHWEST SALAD WITH CHIPOTLE CHICKEN

Mix chipotle chicken with Salata's spring salad mix, fresh tomatoes and corn, mixed cheddar under a splash of chipotle ranch dressing, and you'll have a spicy, healthy lunch that surprises the taste buds.

SPINACH SALAD

This isn't your mother's spinach salad. Chickpeas, black olives, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese add a delight of color that is complemented with pesto chicken chunks and house-baked pita chips.
