Satisfy your Carryout Cravings

Colorado Springs is a city on the crest of a renaissance.  As someone who has bounced from city to city, I can tell you there’s no place quite like The Springs. Our community is fired-up, engaged and fiercely protective of our small businesses. This is especially true for our restaurant industry, an industry that has been enjoying a culinary revolution over the past several years. And while pandemic-related lockdowns may have hampered things a bit, that hasn't stopped our community from doing everything it can to keep our great restaurants afloat. There’s no place like home, and ours is one worth fighting for. Here are 6 local restaurants offering exciting carry out options.

Shuga’s has been the place to go for 20 years!  Why?  They have great food!  They have great drinks!   They have great atmosphere... think the place you want to take your cousin to impress when they are in town!  Alas, now, the full menu. Including their cocktails are available for take out.  Must have:  Brazilian coconut shrimp soup: Must drink: the Beet Down.

Atmosphere Gastropub

Atmosphere Gastropub, brought to you by the owners of Back East Bar & Grill and Chef Steven Bailey, is currently offering an inventive and specialized menu featuring family meals with mouth-watering options such as pork belly mac & cheese. Grab one of their cocktails to go—such as the signature Smoked Cherry Old Fashioned—and pair it with the decadent Tuna Tartare.

Luchal’s began as a food truck with a devoted following; it has now joined the all-star vendor lineup at South Tejon’s Coati Food Hall. Veteran-owned, Luchal’s unique take on soul food offers some of the best seafood in The Springs (including some of the best fried shrimp this side of the Mississippi). Try the Crabalicious Fries generously topped with blue crab meat.

Ambli Global Cusine

Ambli Global Cuisine debuted in Colorado Springs earlier this year and brings an exciting and sophisticated vibe that many of us were hungry for. Co-Owner Pariza Mehta radiates passion and pride for her globally-inspired dishes featuring fresh and in-house ingredients. Even the cranberry juice in their Cosmopolitan is house made! Try the Kuku Paka from Ambli’s new carry out menu.

Stellina Pizza

Taking over the former Willamette Market in the Mid-Shooks Run neighborhood downtown, Stellina offers casual, fresh, and from-scratch pizzas, pasta, and gelato. They’ve even added carry-out pasta kits to their online order menu.  Try the Polpeta pizza for meat balls that will satisfy both belly and soul, or indulge with a bowl of Cacio E Pepe.

Pig Latin Cocina

Another local favorite, Pig Latin hardly needs an introduction. With a popular food truck and a brick and mortar location off of Dublin, Pig Latin is always bustling, and serves up Latin-Caribbean fusion dishes and innovative cocktails to go. You can order from their full menu online for pick up, or dine on their sensory-stimulating patio which offers heaters, rope swings, and colorful murals. Try the popular and delicious Island Tacos.
