“Our motto is: We bring the showroom to you,” Jay says, adding that the company also has a showroom at its office facility in Addison.
“Everything we do is customized to maximize the organizational efficiency of the customer’s space, whether it be a closet, office, pantry, garage … Nothing is cookie-cutter or modular,” Jay says.
This month Gia Gambatese, Closets By Design Director of Operations, offers some helpful spring cleaning tips. For more information about Closets By Design, visit dallas.closetsbydesign.com.
1. Tackle an unruly kitchen pantry by first emptying the pantry and discarding out-of-date spices and food. When returning items to the pantry, place the oldest items in front so they are used first. Utilize clear containers to see the products and check for freshness.
2. To tame a cluttered garage, first hang bikes on the wall to free up floor space. Next, store seasonal items in cabinets and labelled bins.
3. To grow overall space in the home, reclaim the guest room. “Let’s face it … we have all thought about converting that extra bedroom into a yoga studio or workout room or reading room. The dilemma: what are we going to do with grandma when she comes to visit?” Installing a Murphy bed is the perfect solution, she says.
4. A Murphy bed, also known as a wall bed, folds into a wall unit and allows a space to maintain functionality when guests are away. “Pull the bed down from the wall cabinets when needed and get your room back when your company leaves,” she says. Closets By Design offers an array of Murphy beds to fit any room design.
5. For jewelry and accessories, use velvet lined jewelry drawer inserts to showcase items and protect them. “In the closet, create a unique jewelry and staging section with a mirror,” she says. “It will feel like you are shopping in your closet.”
6. To maintain an orderly, spacious closet, place shoes heel-to-toe; double hang clothing; and utilize adjustable shelves to fit your needs. Above all else, she says, seek a closet professional’s help to provide the most efficient solutions.
