Secure Standby, Steadfast Electrical Power

Generator Supercenter Experts Joyfully Provide Comfort, Peace-Of-Mind For Customers

Lengthy electrical outages can be nerve-racking and costly. Generator Supercenter of St. Louis professionals assert their generators repower entire houses within 30 seconds.

Providing a sense of preparedness and convenience in unexpected situations is one of several benefits of having Generac standby generators, says David Lockwood, general manager of GSC of St. Louis. "Unlike many installers, we don’t just sell generators. Generac-trained consultants, master electricians and service technicians handle everything, including ensuring customers get the right system for their needs."

David adds they are one of the only Generac-certified service dealers in the area, meaning they can install, service, repair and maintain generators while keeping warranties intact.

Brad Blankenship, GSC of St. Louis sales manager, says, "We also provide ongoing support through our 24/7 generator monitoring service, which alerts our team to any issues regarding customers before they become problems."

He says this year among their other industry-leading products Generac staffers are planning to introduce a new generator that will offer higher-output power in a compact footprint.

"A home standby generator isn’t a one-size-fits-all situation, which is why we provide  comprehensive in-home consultations to assess each homeowner's unique power needs. That way, we prevent over- or under-sizing," Brad states. "We also always measure gas and electric line runs to confirm accurate installation feasibility and cost."

Levi Nelligan, GSC of St. Louis power solutions consultant, states it's reassuring to customers to know their generators "are always there, waiting to go to work."

He explains that generators "really only have two parts." Outside, the generator is an air-cooled engine in a bisque-colored container that looks like a deck or pool box. When electrical outages occur, he says the engine "spins a magnet to generate an AC (alternating current)" to power the home. Inside, located next to an electric panel, an automatic transfer switch contains the "brain of the system," which connects utility, the generator and electric panel altogether. When power is out, the ATS automatically switches from utility to generator power, and prevents the current from getting back out to main electrical grids, keeping emergency crew linesmen safe.

GSC's turnkey installations handle permitting, inspections and coordination with gas and electric utilities to the final activation. GSC of St. Louis project manager Robert Roggeman says he stays in communication with customers throughout the entire installation process, even when simply waiting for permit approvals from city officials.

"We determine placement based on zoning requirements to ensure the generator is installed in compliance with the maze of local codes," Robert says.

At press time, David says the team was preparing for the Builders St. Charles Home Show scheduled for April 4-6 to showcase Generac’s latest advancements.

"We also are expanding our partnerships with homebuilders to integrate Generac generators into new construction projects, while also scaling our internal team with additional service techs, receptionists and project coordinators to better support our growing customer base," he adds.
