OK, so maybe you can't feel the sun on your skin and smell the ocean, but you can enjoy the beautiful scenery in these films set in Greece. Plus, take in a little history with some of them too! Check out these movies that you maybe have seen hundreds or times or have never heard of.

Mamma Mia!

Regardless of how you felt about the sequel (fans were pretty divided!), we can all agree that the original is a classic that we will cherish forever. Filmed in Skopelos, a small Greek island, Mamma Mia! is everything we could ever dream of for a vacation to Greece.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

While this one isn't set in Greece, it does involve a little bit of Greek culture as the main character is trying to get her Greek family to accept her fiancé who is not Greek. It's dated, but a very fun story about romance, family, self-identity, and acceptance.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

Another silly classic, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants film series is a feel-good story about friendship and love. Plus, the second one is largely filmed in Santorini, Greece, so you can take in more beautiful scenery through your television while enjoying this throwback.

Troy

If rom-coms aren't really your thing, or if you're a person who enjoys a wide range of movie genres, you might also enjoy this action-packed historical film. And who didn't study The Iliad at some point in school, right? So you're all set to follow the storyline and feel super smart as you remember details from your high school English class.

Also, Brad Pitt. Enough said.

Tempest

If we're continuing with the theme of stories we studied in high school English classes, maybe you are familiar with Shakespeare's The Tempest. This movie is based on the play, but it takes a lot of creative liberties and adds a little '80s charm with Susan Sarandon and Molly Ringwald playing the girlfriend and daughter of an architect who has a mid-life crisis and moves to Greece.

Hercules

Yes, it's animated. Yes, it's a Disney movie. But it's an energetic film with incredible music, and you deserve to enjoy it no matter what age you are. Plus, if the rumors of a live-action remake coming are true, you'll be refreshed and ready.
