Senior Choice Care Empowers Families

When it comes to senior living, hundreds of different options and resources offering a wide range of individual care services, socializing opportunities and pricing options are available in Ventura County. It is common to feel overwhelmed in the search process—and that's why the professionals at Senior Choice Care Connections are dedicated to helping empower families to make a confident decision, at no charge!

“If you don't know where to begin when looking at the myriad senior care options, contact us for personal assistance from one of our helpful advisors who will assist in finding a facility that is within your budget and checks all your essential care boxes,” says Jill Waters, founder of Senior Choice Care.

Who is Senior Choice?

Driven by passion, ambition and over 10 years of experience in senior living, Jill established Senior Choice, LLC, in 2022 to support families on their quest to find the perfect senior living facility. The family owned and operated service provides continued guidance from knowledgeable advisors from beginning to end, answering questions in person or on the phone, providing solutions and referring families to the best communities or services that match each person’s most important preferences.

Whether looking for independent or assisted living, a residential care home, memory care facility or home care services, Senior Choice will pair clients with the community or services that best fits their individual needs.

Why choose Senior Choice?

“Sit back and relax while Senior Choice does all the legwork,” says Jill. “Our aim is to narrow down the options to a handful of communities that best fit your lifestyle and budget, all at no cost to you.”

How is the service free of charge?

Once families decide which community or agency is the best fit for them, Senior Choice receives a “referral fee” from that specific community or agency as a "thank you" for our work.

What areas do you cover?

We serve all of Ventura County and the west end of Los Angeles, from Calabasas to Carpinteria, and everywhere in between.

What types of communities are available?

● Independent Living Communities (IL) are entire neighborhoods designed for older adult residents that enjoy a social and active lifestyle just as much as they enjoy their private space. Some include meal and care options, and most provide opportunities to socialize. ILs include studios to three-bedrooms, starting at about $2,800.

Assisted Living Communities (AL) are residential communities that offer personalized care to aging adults in a resort-like environment with numerous amenities and services. ALs include studios to two-bedroom suites, starting at about $3,700.

● A Memory Care Community (MC) is an exclusive community that provides seniors diagnosed with dementia an extra level of supervision, safety and care. MCs have private or shared rooms that start at about $5,000.

Board and CareHomes (B & C) are cozy neighborhood homes licensed to provide 24-hour care and support to a maximum of six senior residents. B & Cs have private or shared bedrooms that start at about $4,500.

Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) are often temporary accommodations for rehabilitation services providing 24/7 care and medical support for those who have come from the hospital. Medicare covers a certain number of days but will become private pay once those days run out. Private rooms start at $11,068, shared rooms start at $9,713 in Ventura County (https://www.genworth.com/aging-and-you/finances/cost-of-care.html).

Home Health Care is medical services provided by trained medical professionals in the privacy of a senior's home, starting at $133 an hour (Genworth.com/aging-and-you/finances/).

● Home Care is nonmedical care that can include a wide range of companion support services, such as cooking, cleaning and shower assistance, that may allow older adults to live safely in their own home for a longer period of time, starting at about $30 an hour.
