Meet Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary: Where Love Never Grows Old

Can old dogs really learn new tricks? Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary thinks so! This forever foster home is spreading awareness of both the joys and challenges of living with aging dogs. OFSDS currently houses over 100 four-legged friends with more than 400 who spend their retirement years as beloved family members with foster families.

Where is OFSDS located? They recently moved into the PAWvillions at 765 Nonaville Rd. This brand new, state-of-the-art, 18,000 sq. ft. facility sits on 9 acres. It was a $5M project funded through donations from their loyal local and online supporters, and the final result is PAWfect.

When can you visit? Tours are offered Monday – Saturday for ages 5+ and can be scheduled on their website. Volunteer opportunities are available for ages 16 and up; this is sure to be the highlight of your week!

How can you get involved? This non-profit, which operates solely on donations and grants, welcome one-time gifts or recurring sponsorships. You can also shop their Amazon Wish List. In addition, foster families are always a need.

Who can be a foster family? If you live within 100 miles of Mt. Juliet, you can apply to be a Forever Foster. The process includes a home visit and veterinary reference. There are no fees, and medical care is provided. The ultimate goal is to place otherwise unadoptable dogs into a loving and lifetime home.
