Service is the Foundation of Buddy Allen Carpet One Floor & Home

this team prides themselves on top-notch customer satisfaction and quality services

While a leap of faith led to their humble beginnings, the unparalleled care for their clientele and attention to their culture has given Buddy Allen Carpet One Floor & Home a vitality most businesses dream of having. Established in 1964 by a family deeply rooted in and devoted to the Donelson and Wilson County areas, the company has built its reputation on providing quality flooring and exceptional service. "That's all it's ever been about, customer service," says co-founder Gary Allen. "We guarantee that if you don't like it for any reason, we'll take it up and replace it."

The company began when Buddy Allen, who had years of experience in the flooring industry, and his son Gary decided to use their knowledge to launch their own business. Gary’s mother was working at Methodist publishing house, and his father, Buddy, was working for Carter Flooring. “We formed this company in this spot that we're sitting in right now,” Gary recalls. “My mother stayed at the publishing house as a secretary but would come in and do the books at night."

Though anyone can start a business, the Allen family quickly proved valuable to middle Tennessee, focusing on customer care and satisfaction. "Service is the only thing that gets you anywhere. Doing what you say you're going to do is the biggest thing," says co-founder Gary.

"One thing that's never changed is our service," adds Jenna Allen, who runs business development. "Our installers - we know their families. We invest in them. They're all CFI certified, and we send them to regular training. It's not uncommon for a client to tell us how much they loved whoever installed their flooring."

Their "top-down, people over profit" mentality laced throughout the fabric of their company's culture will give you extra confidence using them above another company. "It's a family tradition - not only the Allen family, but many families have had three generations work here as installers."

And while their attention to customer care and company culture is undoubtedly applaudable, Buddy Allen's good deeds don't stop there. On May 11th and 12th, they will host their sixth annual golf tournament, raising money for 9-11-inspired non-profit Tunnels to Towers. "We have raised close to $200,000 so far - with our little office and the Wilson County community helping us."
