Tucked away in one of Roswell’s most exclusive enclaves, Shahid Khan’s stunning
7,000-square-foot residence is more than just a luxurious home—it’s a sanctuary for
some of the world’s most coveted automobiles. Five of them, in fact.
A self-made entrepreneur in the hospitality industry, Khan’s journey from humble
beginnings to a thriving business empire is as awe-inspiring as the multimillion-dollar
fleet housed within his estate. But behind the glamour of his exotic car collection lies a
lesser-known challenge he faced: a driveway that nearly jeopardized his prized
vehicles.
A Journey of Determination and Success: Born in the UAE, Khan relocated to the United States at the age of seven, first settling in Marion, South Carolina, before moving to Powder Springs, Georgia, in third grade. He attended McEachern High School and later enrolled at Chattahoochee Technical College, though his entrepreneurial ambitions led him down a different path. From walking dogs as his first solo job to co-owning a BP gas station with his father in 2006, Khan’s business acumen quickly evolved. He eventually found his niche in hospitality, building a portfolio of seven extended-stay hotels across Georgia. With locations in Marietta, Riverdale, Stone Mountain, Lithia Springs, Lilburn, Jonesboro, and Gainesville, he has redefined affordable lodging without compromising quality. His first property purchase in 2017 laid the foundation for his growing success.
Finding the Perfect Home Khan’s real estate journey led him from Douglasville to the prestigious King Road in Roswell, where he found a home that suited his lifestyle and growing car collection. While the property offered the space and privacy he desired, its steep and uneven driveway posed a serious problem for his fleet of luxury vehicles. For high-performance cars like Lamborghinis, Ferraris and a Cadillac, a poorly-designed driveway could mean catastrophic damage—just one bumper repair on a Ferrari can cost upwards of $100,000.
The Driveway Transformation
Determined to protect his investment, Khan sought professional help to create a
driveway that could accommodate his vehicles’ low ground clearance. After several
failed attempts with other contractors, he connected with Heide Contracting. Pat
Combs, COO of Heide Contracting, took on the challenge, completely redesigning the
driveway to ensure a smooth and safe transition for Khan’s exotic fleet.
The original structure posed an engineering challenge, as city regulations required the
driveway to sit two inches higher than the street. Combs and his team meticulously
regraded the slope, lowering it to achieve the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. Collaborating with Peter Wexel of Verified Outdoor Services, they used
advanced mathematical calculations to execute a precise elevation plan. The result? A
structurally sound, visually appealing, and luxury car-friendly driveway, complete with
decorative stamped concrete that enhances the home’s curb appeal for any picture day
with Khan’s auto collection.
A Collection Like No Other
With the driveway perfected, Khan’s passion for automobiles is now fully realized. Over
the years, he has owned around 30 high-end cars, evolving from gas first base-model
1999 Toyota Corolla to some of the most exclusive supercars in the world. His current
collection includes:
Cadillac CT Blackwing (2025)
Lamborghini Performante Urus (2024)
Ferrari SF90 Spider (2024)
Lamborghini Huracan Spider (2021)
Lamborghini SVJ Aventador (2019), his favorite in his current collection.
With an estimated total value of $2.6 million, Khan’s collection is more than just a
symbol of wealth—it represents his journey, perseverance, and appreciation for fine
craftsmanship. Beyond the thrill of owning these machines, Khan finds joy in sharing
them with car enthusiasts, especially when he sees the excitement in the eyes of
children who marvel at his cars.
The Drive to Inspire
Looking back, Khan credits his success to relentless determination and self-belief. His
personal mantra is “Success isn’t given, it’s earned; Stay relentless, rare and keep
moving forward.” These words have shaped Khan’s mindset and fueled his rise from
financial struggles to affluence. Now, as a father to two sons (ages 18 and 12), he
hopes his legacy will inspire his sons and others to chase their dreams, regardless of
their starting point.
As for what’s next? While Khan is always on the lookout for his next exotic addition, one
thing is certain: his home, his cars, his family and his story stand as a testament to the
power of ambition, hard work, and the willingness to take risks.
