Steve’s journey to Social Bar & Lounge began decades ago, washing dishes in his parents’ restaurant as a teen. “I guess you could say it’s in my blood,” he reflects. From those early days to leading restaurant openings across the country, and consulting for budding restaurateurs, every step brought him closer to launching his own concept. In 2019, Social Bar & Lounge was born—just half a mile from his home—with the simple goal of giving suburbanites a sophisticated place to sip something great.
The inspiration was personal. “My wife and I would finish our Saturdays and want a good martini or Manhattan somewhere close. But there just wasn’t that kind of place nearby,” he says. Social Bar & Lounge filled that void—and quickly proved that many others had been looking for the same thing.
