Are you feeling lucky?!

Are you intentional when it comes to prevention and staying on top of your health? Or do you think it’s just luck?

As a nutrition chef, I believe one of the most powerful ways to stay in front of a healthy lifestyle begins in our kitchen. What we cook directly affects how we feel, think, and act. When you cook a meal or eat a snack, do you consider the ingredients? Are you mindful in choosing good ingredients for your recipes?

Eating healthy isn’t so much about the big rules you hear like “don’t eat big portions” or “stay away from all sugar”. For me and what I encourage my clients to do is pay close attention to the small choices. What are you snacking on at 3 pm? What ingredients are in those “gluten-free” crackers you are so proud of finding? What kind of oil is in that can of peanuts?

I encourage you to not depend on luck when it comes to your health and really depend on the foods you eat to give your body the tools it needs to stay healthy and strong.

Be intentional with every meal, snack, and beverage you pick up. You may see food as a treat, but your body sees it as a tool to use to keep you healthy.  ShelleyCanHelp.com
