Founded in 1966, the Sherman Symphony Orchestra presents live concerts and serves as a primary resource for music education in the region. The orchestra performs in the Kidd-Key Auditorium in the Sherman Cultural District and has been under the direction of Maestro Daniel Dominick since 1992.
Aaron Bucy, Executive Director, states that the Sherman Symphony Orchestra is the only symphony between Dallas and Oklahoma City. “Our primary mission is education. Our symphony provides musicians that offer advanced lessons to student musicians. Sherman is the only independent school district in Grayson County that has a class for orchestra.”
The Sherman Symphony Orchestra, according to Maestro Dominick, usually has between sixty to ninety-five musicians. Tuba Player Chris Martin, in his second year with the Symphony, is a lifelong career musician. "Music is my life. I love being in the moment and this symphony gives me that opportunity.”
Ticket and other information can be found on their website at ShermanSymphony.com or on their Facebook page.
The Sherman Symphony Orchestra is excited to announce its upcoming concert schedule.
