Signed for Success

High School Athletes Turn Dreams into Reality on Signing Day

High School Signing Day was a proud moment for local athletes as students from Roswell High School, Centennial High School, and Blessed Trinity Catholic High School committed to advancing their athletic and academic careers.

Four Roswell High football seniors—Kobby Sakyi-Prah (University of South Carolina), Ethan Gurela (James Madison University), Synkwan “Bop” Smith (University of Pittsburgh), and Ryder Duffy (Elon University)—signed their National Letters of Intent after contributing to one of the most successful four-year runs in the program's history.

Roswell High athletes Elizabeth Stamey (Georgia Southern, cross country & track), Piper Lee (Clemson University, rowing), Tatiana Robinson (University of Santa Fe, volleyball), and Mikayla Middleton (Norfolk State, volleyball) also committed to competing at the collegiate level. Volleyball Head Coach Tom Messner noted, “It’s a proud moment for us to see these young ladies take this next step in their sports journeys. Roswell High School has a rich tradition of producing student-athletes who excel academically and athletically, and these young ladies are outstanding examples of that legacy. We’re excited to watch them continue to shine and represent our Hornet family with pride.”

At Centennial High School, Grayson Stroumpis (University of West Georgia, baseball), Mary Grace Towery (Kennesaw State University, lacrosse), Sophia Lickman (University of Arkansas, swimming), and Ada Welch (University of Rhode Island, crew) signed to continue their athletic careers in college.

Principal Dr. Opie Blackwell shared, “I am incredibly proud of our four athletes. Their achievements not only bring tremendous opportunities for them and their families, but also exemplify the character-driven, academically-focused, and talented athletes that define the Centennial athletic brand. This success is a testament to our coaching staff's dedication and the unwavering support of our entire school community.”

At Blessed Trinity Catholic High School, several student-athletes from different sports signed to continue their collegiate athletic careers. Athletic Director Ricky Turner said, "Each of these student-athletes has demonstrated a commitment to excellence—both on the field and in the classroom. They embody the values of sportsmanship, discipline, spirituality, and leadership, and we are immensely proud to call them representatives of Blessed Trinity's athletic program.”
