Simple Daily Habits for Lifelong Women’s Wellness

Dr. Liz Cruz shares preventative tips to support long-term health, balance, and vitality for women daily

With over 20 years of experience in digestive health, Dr. Liz Cruz brings a preventative, whole-body approach to women’s wellness. Her philosophy centers on simple, consistent habits that support long-term health from the inside out.

“Prevention is where true health begins. Annual screenings give us the opportunity to catch issues early, before they become something more serious,” she explains. Staying current with well-woman exams, including mammograms, blood pressure checks, cervical cancer screenings, and colonoscopies starting at age 45, is one of the most impactful steps women can take.

Movement is equally essential. “The body was designed to move daily. Even moderate activity like walking can improve digestion, energy, and overall resilience,” says Dr. Cruz. She recommends at least 30 minutes of movement five times per week, paired with daily stretching.

Nutrition plays a powerful role in gut and overall health. “When you fuel your body with real, whole foods, especially greens, you’re giving it what it needs to function and heal,” she shares. A balanced diet with vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats, and whole grains supports both physical and mental well-being.

Rest and stress management cannot be overlooked. “Sleep is when the body repairs itself. Without it, everything else becomes harder,” she notes, encouraging 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night along with stress-reducing practices.

Hydration and lifestyle choices round out her approach. “Water is one of the simplest tools we have. When you’re properly hydrated, your body can do what it’s meant to do,” Dr. Cruz says. She also emphasizes limiting alcohol and avoiding tobacco to protect long-term health.
