The Roswell Wine Festival was established in 2012 by long-time friends Peggy Robinson and Dwight Cunningham. After graduating from college at Johnson & Wales University, both moved to Roswell and fell in love with the area. With a shared passion for wine, they wanted to create an event that provides an exceptional experience for wine enthusiasts, supports the business community, and benefits local charities. Both co-founders have earned Wine & Spirit Education Trust level two certifications, with merit.
Through ticket sales, sponsorships, and restaurant participation, the festival has been able to support some of Roswell's beloved organizations like The Cottage School, Historic Roswell's Beautification Project, The Giving Kitchen, Children's Development Academy, Keep Roswell Beautiful, and The Roswell Arts Fund in the past 10 years. It is thrilling news that in this tenth anniversary year, the 2023 festival will benefit Friends of Mimosa Hall and Gardens.
Last month, over two days, wine drinkers sipped and strolled along Canton Street sampling wines from favorite participating restaurants and businesses, while enjoying live music from notable local bands. Ticket holders received complimentary wine tastings and a commemorative glass.
If you have an interest in volunteering, it can be a lot of fun! The talent, dedication, and support of local volunteers help to make this a great event and enable the Roswell Wine Festival to donate proceeds to these great local non-profits that are so important to our community each year. Volunteer opportunities always open up for the festival in August.
