Dripping Springs has become a popular destination for beer aficionados with more than a dozen breweries calling the Hill Country home.
Here are a few local, family-friendly favorites serving up cold brews, great food, live music, new product launches and other fun events throughout the summer.
Family Business
Locally-grown and operated, Family Business Beer Co. is excited to support the community with two summer events.
The first is Saturday, July 29, featuring more than 40 vendors selling a variety of products such as clothes, artwork, jewelry and food. Live music will entertain attendees throughout the day, making it a perfect outing for the whole family to enjoy while supporting local businesses.
They will also host a back-to-school teacher appreciation event Saturday, August 12. It’s a celebration of gratitude toward the hardworking teachers in our community.
Scott Hughes, Family Business operations manager, expresses the company's commitment to its roots, "We all live in the area, and we really are true to our name — we are a family business, and we treat each other like family."
Family Business takes pride in its beer, which is meticulously crafted on site. As a production facility, the company is currently expanding its distribution into the San Antonio market, bringing its quality beverages to a broader audience. This summer, they plan to launch a flavored seltzer, diversifying their offerings. Visitors can also indulge in delicious food made fresh on-site daily, including a rotating specialty pizza menu.
Children visiting will find themselves entertained on the play set, and the spacious premises provide ample room for dogs to accompany their owners. Live music performances during events add to the vibrant atmosphere.

Twisted X
Twisted X Brewing Company is best known for their McConahaze IPA. The family-friendly destination has exciting developments in store this summer, including a brand new splash pad, providing children an enjoyable and refreshing way to beat the heat. Families can look forward to spending quality time at the brewery while the little ones engage in fun water activities.
“Two new beers will also be released this summer,” shares Brand Ambassador Joshua Visi. “A small-batch Hefeweizen and a peach pilsner made with Hill Country peaches will add a refreshing local flavor to the menu.”
Plans are also underway for a new dog park area, which will make it even more appealing for dog owners to bring their four-legged companions.
For those seeking a complete experience, Twisted X recommends exploring the on-site Cedar Break Howard Ranch Casitas and RVs. Visitors can rent a cozy casita or RV and fully immerse themselves in the charm and brewery offerings for the day.

Vista Brewing
Vista Brewing invites music enthusiasts to its Outside the City Limits Summer Concert Series. The concerts will take place on the second Saturday of each month at Vista's sprawling 21-acre ranch in Driftwood.
The concert series is free and offers a family and dog-friendly environment. Guests can enjoy the full farm-to-table food menu available at the venue while enjoying a wide selection of beer, wine, cider, and wine/sake cocktails while children play on a large playscape.
For an additional treat, Vista has partnered with local business Flight Ice Creams, to share their handcrafted cold treats during the shows. Attendees will have the chance to indulge in a flavor specifically made with Vista's Dark Skies Black Pilsner. Furthermore, a local artisan vendor market, curated by HUE Marketplace, will be featured during each concert, showcasing unique creations.
This summer series is a prelude to Vista’s Outside the City Limits fall music festival Saturday, October 28.
