Founded by mother and daughter team Joanne Rackow and Jamie with the mission to create beautiful, affordable jewelry for women of all ages, Splendid Iris offers timeless pieces to elevate any look.
Named after Joanne’s mom, who had an impeccable eye for style, Splendid Iris blends the duo’s individual styles to create a cohesive line they would both want to wear, while keeping all women in mind. Jamie, a busy mom of four, enjoys simple and delicate accents to fit her casual style, while Joanne prefers bolder, dressier pieces to take her from day to night. So whether it's classic designs, trend-setting layers or something in between, there's something here for everyone.
Since its start in 2010, Splendid Iris has expanded to include bags, clothing and accessories, as Joanne and Jamie continue their dream to curate and design fabulous pieces that allow every woman to look and feel her best.
Their website (SplendidIris.com) and their flagship store in Westlake Village offer two ways to shop.
“We opened our retail store in February of 2019 right before the pandemic,” says Joanne. “Upon reopening, many customers said we were their first shopping experience since Covid. They felt safe in our small environment and enjoyed finding various treasures hidden in our boutique setting.”
Jamie, the lead designer, says, “We try to offer product that is on trend but also timeless. My grandmother continues to be an inspiration as I recall her attention to detail. I vividly remember going through her drawers and looking in awe at her beautiful jewelry. She was the go-to person when friends and family had questions about what was fashionable.”
The pair marvel about their journey and how they began with 20 pieces and now stock over 900 jewelry pieces and are sold in thousands of retailers across the country. In the beginning silver was definitely the driving force of sales, but gold has been trending for several years now, Jamie says.
“Our prices range from $9 to $54, and our website has an extensive sale section with highly discounted prices.”
They added clothing in 2019 with a line of inspirational, feel-good t-shirts printed in their warehouse.
“We are strong believers in the power of words and like to incorporate that into our product whenever possible,” says Joanne, noting that 2022 will be their largest launch, with linen dresses, pants, shirts, jackets and shorts in six colors made in Italy.
Joanne is passionate about their flagship boutique and loves hosting fundraisers for various organizations.
“We donate 20% to 30% of the sales generated to the charity or school. We either host the group in our store or orders can be placed on our website as well,” she says, adding, “We are pleased to say we have partnered with a Los Angeles–based charity that houses and provides daycare to women and children who have suffered from abuse and need a safe place to live. We aid them financially as well as donating, clothing, jewelry and various accessories.”

Jamie wakes up grateful every day that she gets to work with her mom, which also means that her four children are a part of their grandma's daily life as well.
