Pamper yourself or your loved one this Valentine’s Day with chic eyewear, fitted bras, lovely lingerie and luxury lounge wear personally selected by Venice’s very own Joyce McCaffrey at her fun, haute couture shop, Eyes On You. A board certified optician with more than 30 years of experience, as well as an expert bra fitter, Joyce shares her love for the finer things in life with her customers. She carries frames by the leading European eyewear makers, and all her fabrics are sumptuous and high end. Everything in her shop could just as easily be found being worn in restaurants and plazas of Venice, Italy, as it is right here at home.

Joyce has been paying particular attention to keeping her customers safe as they shop at Eyes On You during the pandemic, sanitizing and making sure everyone socially distances. Ever the trailblazer and innovator through her fashion choices and her active membership in such forward thinking nonprofit organizations as the Business and Professional Women of Englewood and Venice—Joyce has recently added some new technology to the eyewear fitting process: the Spark Mi Up hands-free digital measuring device by eyewear maker Shamir. The Spark Mi Up is a smart mirror with an internal camera that allows Joyce to take all required measurements with a just few clicks.

“Shamir released the Spark Mi Up this past summer and I had mine in November,” Joyce says. “I love using it. It’s hands-free, and allows me to take measurements without being in the customer’s face. It gives the client more confidence in how the frames will look, and is an excellent tool for me to take exact, precise measurements on each frame, and to keep us both safe. The customer looks at herself in the frames in the mirror and I sit off to the side and take pictures. I am the only eyewear shop in the region with this technology.”

This Valentine’s Day, not only should shoppers come in to Eyes On You to try out the new Spark Mi Up, but also to simply spoil themselves with fine apparel.

“Even on Valentine’s Day, no one should wait for their significant other to spoil them,” Joyce says, “but they should spoil themselves. It’s a wonderful time for a woman to take a look at herself and say, ‘Hey, it’s time to take care of me!’ Their husbands can buy them gift certificates and they can come in and I can give them all the properly fitted garments they need from bras, to shape wear, to sleepwear, to whatever will make them feel great.”

Joyce’s luxurious lounge and sleepwear includes designer brands like Skarlett Blue, Le Mystere, and Mahogany, and fabrics including bamboo-based and tumbled Modal cotton.

“Because of the pandemic, women are really looking for comfort bras to wear while sitting at home,” Joyce says. “I have all new collections for them to browse through. Even though we are spending so much more time at home, women need to continue to wear bras. The bad thing about not wearing bras at home is that women will have to get used to wearing bras all over again once life returns to normal. It’s better to wear a comfort bra at home than none at all.”

On a final note, Joyce recently had to say farewell to her pet and companion of the past eleven years, her famous shop dog Chloe.

“She was so wonderful and easy going with everyone,” Joyce says of her beloved friend. “She was so sweet and friendly and gave all of us so much. Now it’s her turn to have peace in return. Everyone loved her and it’s really been a tremendous loss to have to say goodbye.”

Everyone at Venice Lifestyle who got to know Chloe over the years shares our condolences at the loss of Joyce’s dear friend. Goodbye, Chloe. You were the sweetest little dog around!
