The Stagecoach Inn Museum

Experience native and pioneer life in the Conejo Valley at The Stagecoach Inn Museum, where the area’s history comes to life in a fun and educational way. Located on a beautiful 5-acre property, the museum was built in 1876 as the Grand Union Hotel. Now a designated historical landmark, the museum complex includes seven historical buildings and showcases educational exhibits.

Visit a one-room schoolhouse from the 1870s, a Carriage House with stagecoaches, a working blacksmith shop, a pioneer home, an indoor Chumash exhibit and an outdoor village. The Heritage Rose Garden and the Heritage Oak patio are available for weddings and other special gatherings. Children of all ages can access farm and nature trails and participate in seasonal scavenger hunts.

Take a docent-led tour through the reconstructed inn to view period furniture depicting the Western 1880s era, vintage gramophones, lovely mannequins adorned with gorgeous dresses, intriguing antique photos and various special exhibits. An entire room is dedicated to gorgeous dolls and another showcases vintage and handmade holiday decorations. The kitchen harkens back to a time before electricity and indoor plumbing when America’s hard work ethic paved the foundation for Southern California’s success.

The museum is curated by the Conejo Valley Historical Society, which serves as the custodian of local heritage, facilitating vital educational programs for area schools and the community.
