Coffee House 29 has been a fixture in Windsor for the past ten years. Fueled by the desire to maintain what had become a beloved hub for Windsor, Judah and Heather Cofer along with a partner took ownership in 2020. Not long after, Shawn and Shellie Kibler joined to help carry forward the vision and increase the impact.
Built on four core principles - culture, craft, community, and collaboration, Coffee House 29 remains a popular gathering place for a diverse tapestry of people. The strong culture is nurtured by delivering their craft - high-quality drinks and food - through excellent customer service, thereby creating a place people want to be. They foster a sense of familiarity and community - one that focuses on people, their families, businesses, and the Windsor community at large. Finally, collaboration shines in the
many partnerships the Coffee House 29 team has embraced: like working with other local entrepreneurs, schools, churches and networking groups. Or partnering with larger outreaches like CharlieJoe Chai to combat human trafficking or supporting projects like Carpinteros Para Cristo in Honduras building homes for needy families.
With its warm and welcoming environment, Coffee House 29 plays host to a variety of get-togethers from casual meetups with friends and family to business meetings in its 25-person private conference room. The entire cafe is available, complete with baristas for after-hours rentals, for wedding-related festivities, graduation celebrations, and
companies’ staff appreciation events, to name a few. Patrons often say the cozy, comfortable atmosphere feels like an extension of home - the highest compliment.
To continue to build the vision, they added an in-house roasting component, focusing on quality distributors and forming relationships with the families who grow premium coffee around the world, embracing their stories, and giving rise to Storymaker, Coffee House 29’s own brand. Judah explains, “Coffee House 29 is a place and at its heart is the
community. And at the heart of community is relationships, and at the heart of relationships is story.” Storymaker has a lot to do with people's stories built from relationships surrounding great eats and drinks. A good cup of hot coffee or tea with a fresh baked scone makes spending time together sharing life and stories much more fun! Wouldn’t you agree?
Judah and Shawn want their coffee and other craft goods to go beyond the brick and mortar. Shawn adds, “Everything starts to bloom around great coffee, it’s the genesis.” And now, with a new focus on their coffee subscription program, they have removed the obstacles to getting premium coffee into the community through local delivery, in-store pickup, and shipping options, providing freshly roasted coffee to Windsor and beyond! “We’re providing every means possible to get what people want - fresh, high quality coffee - which then creates a connection point wherever people are gathering - at the shop, at home or on the move” Shawn elaborates. You can access the subscription program easily online at storymakercoffee.com to order coffee and more!
Storymaker coffee is the freshest coffee in Windsor, sourced from premium growers in countries including Brazil, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Honduras, and more. The coffee is then roasted in small batches so it’s not sitting on shelves for months, and delivered for your enjoyment in single-origin bags or two tasty signature blends, Bison Bold and Golden Hour.
Centered around coffee, rooted in community, built on relationships, Coffee House 29 blends culture, craft, community, and collaboration to provide a unique and memorable experience, and Storymaker Coffee fuels your life adventures at home or on the go!
