STRAWBERRY SEASON

Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm In Pilot Point

Do you want a fun, family outdoor activity? It’s strawberry season, and Chris and Kylie Demases love it this time of year. Why? Because, with pun intended, they “love seeing the fruits of their labor,” they proudly say. As the owners of Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm, the Demases wait all year for strawberry season, happening right now.

Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm, located in Pilot Point, is a fifth-generation family-owned farm where customers can pick delicious, beautiful strawberries. The popular farm often has long lines and frequently sells out of strawberries, so don’t wait to join in on all the fun. In addition to the strawberries, the farm also sells homemade jam and strawberry lemonade.

Chris Demases grew up farming Texas produce year-round. One year, the Demases hosted a pop-up stand of pre-picked strawberries at Chris’ family farm on the side of the road, causing a major traffic jam and thus generating a “big lightbulb moment.” Chris and Kylie decided to plant and focus an entire strawberry farm on the backside of their Pilot Point property behind a body of water named Pecan Creek, ergo, the farm's name. The plants are rooted in October and tended for all fall and winter, waiting for the ripening season’s arrival. “Seeing families, friends, and customers come to our farm with their baskets enjoying themselves picking berries is the absolute best,” says Kylie Demases. “We love watching the returning customers and their family traditions, memories, and milestones. It just brings us so much joy,” she continues.

Strawberry season is limited. Once the strawberries are gone, they are gone. Parking is free, but you are required to purchase a reusable bucket. The farm opens at 10 am and closes when they sell out. It’s first come, first served with no picking limit, but it's also not guaranteed. The Demases highly recommend you follow their social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram (@Pecancreekstrawberryfarm) for opening day information, field status, weather conditions, and more.
