Nashville’s Got A New STRIDE

No Need To Tread Lightly When Exercising At Nashville’s STRIDE Fitness

Need a break from the chaos at home? Haven’t shed the pandemic pounds, or looking for a place to continue reaching personal fitness goals in a fun-fueled environment?

Founded in 2017, STRIDE Fitness is the first treadmill-based interval training brand in America.

This boutique-styled studio expanded in 2019 as a franchise and now has nearly 90 licensed locations across the country. Franklin residents John and Kim Walker recognized the value in this revolutionary concept, opening Tennessee’s first STRIDE Fitness conveniently located in Nashville’s West End last June.

Because of the positive feedback, the couple has plans in motion to open two more boutiques, with locations to be announced.

STRIDE Fitness offers treadmill-based group fitness classes, plus full body strength and core-specific workout sessions available for a rounded exercise regimen. Their top-of-the-line Woodway Treadmills, designed with pro athletes in mind, provide ultimate shock absorption for those who want to clock a lot of running or walking minutes. STRIDE Fitness utilizes in-studio MyZone heart rate monitors to track each client’s heart rate, calorie
burn, and intensity, offering post-class data on the STRIDE Fitness App.

Their 55-minute workouts are doable for any person no matter what their fitness level is. They offer 28 classes, seven days a week, with options for morning, daytime and evening. Check out ClassPass for their latest reviews and 5.0 rating.

The studio welcomes walkers, joggers and runners, all ages and fitness levels. All participants workout side-by-side to create a unique exercise experience, with personalized heart rates and distances to maintain to begin and end a class together.

“It’s a super fun environment. We definitely think that we have something special here," notes general manager Jodi Suglio.

Jodi has strategically chosen accredited instructors with differing personalities and backgrounds, who all specialize in something a little different from one another, allowing for a greater opportunity for member connectivity. Head Coach Christina Pichiarello is an example of
the qualified care you’ll receive at STRIDE Fitness Nashville. She is trained as a physician’s assistant, was recently named Nashville’s Best Running Coach in the city’s edition of FIT Magazine, was also chosen as the 2023 Rock N Roll Nashville Marathon Ambassador, and in September, Pichiarello weighed in on her choice of footwear in a piece for SHAPE Magazine.

Each coach creates their own playlist, playfully referring to themselves as accepting requests regularly. Themed classes evolve as the music becomes a customized vibe to each group’s mood.

The instructors nurture an environment of inclusivity, helping to change the lives of those participating, with an emphasis on fun.

They foster open dialogue about what members would like added or modified to enhance their experience, not only with music preferences, but for snack options available for purchase, or adjusted class hours.

Jodi and her staff are creating a community, and sharing a genuine and unified objective, to help members reach their own personal goals, adding, “People come in for different reasons. We’re here for them to get exactly what they need.”
