What first inspired you to start singing country music?
“I grew up with George Strait, Alan Jackson, and those guys, and I really enjoyed their music, but I’d never really considered doing it as a career. I was always ‘gung-ho military.’ It wasn't until I saw Merle Haggard [perform live] for the first time that it had me hook, line, and sinker.”
What local causes or events mean the most to you?
“I play at a lot of events like the San Jacinto Plaza series. I also do a lot of charity events for different veterans’ organizations such as the Texas Valor Project, the Boys and Girls Club . . . anything that gives back to people, especially the military and kids in need.”
How was the transition from the military to music?
“It was very intimidating, to say the least. It was a lot of just playing wherever I could—open mics, getting to know the right people in different bars or clubs, and a lot of networking. Eventually, I was able to score some little shows around Rockwall and different places that would have me up on stage.”
