Fashion magazines, photography, and beautiful design shaped much of my early life. After earning a degree in Fashion Merchandising and later working in photography, I eventually turned to holistic wellness, where I discovered that the most important thing you wear isn’t found in your closet at all, it’s in your energy.
Style is often associated with clothing, accessories, and appearance, but presence communicates something even more powerful. Long before someone notices your outfit or hears your words, they experience the energy you bring into the room. Some are more attuned to this awareness than others.
The way you feel within yourself shapes the way you experience the world around you. When your nervous system is overwhelmed, life can feel rushed and disconnected, making it easy to move about your day without taking a moment to check in with yourself.
Creating space to slow down, breathe, move your body, spend time in nature, meditate, or simply sit in stillness allows you to reconnect with yourself. You become more present, grounded, and intentional in the way you move through life.
One simple mindfulness practice takes less than a minute. Before entering a meeting, gathering, or conversation, pause and take three slow breaths. Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale gently through your mouth. Then ask yourself: "How do I want to show up today?"
This simple question shifts your focus from doing to being, from appearance to presence. Rather than focusing on how you look, consider the energy you want to bring into the moment instead. Choosing how you want to feel -- grounded, open, and kind -- helps you respond with intention instead of reacting from habit.
Style is more than what you wear. It's reflected in the energy you bring into every space, the way you care for yourself, and the way you connect with others. The most timeless style of all is being fully present in your own life.
