BRISTEN & SARAH PHILLIPS
Bristen and Sarah Phillips are an eclectic and artsy couple. Bristen is a mural painter known locally for his paintings around Celina Square, while Sarah describes herself as a corporate artist. Their story of music, art, and fun can be seen in the fashion they choose.
When not working, Bristen reflects his West Texas cowboy roots with an authentic look of wrangler jeans, boots, and a cowboy hat. He can be picky about fit and fabrics and shops for quality over quantity. On working days, you will find him staying cool in his Vivobarefoot high-top shoes, Poncho shirt, and shorts. For Bristen, clothing must be comfortable and functional before it is stylish.
Sarah describes herself as Boho freestyle. She prefers a long, flowing, colorful dress, fun accessories such as rings and earrings, and her favorite pair of boots. Sarah prefers to challenge the status quo and be herself in all she does, whether chasing her kids around the yard or walking into a corporate boardroom. She confesses that she wants to put in minimal effort with maximum effect, be kind to herself, and dress to her shape.
Both Bristen and Sarah prefer to march to their own drum in how they approach life and the clothes they wear. They believe in shopping locally, indulging in the growing and eclectic businesses moving to the Square.
ANTHONY MOREL
Anthony Morel, the owner of The Nook CKMC and HEYDAY in Celina, as well as Graffiti Pizza in Denton, sets his own style. His father was born and raised in Italy and always had a flair for fashion. He had a favorite Aunt from Harlem, from whom he learned that fashion constantly changes, grows, and goes in new directions. These two people influenced Anthony as he designed his sense of style. He describes himself as comfort but with a focus on things you don’t see every day. He is content to be a rule breaker and finds his sense of style is like his music: a little all over the place but unique. His go-to wardrobe includes a pair of Lululemon pants good for any work he plans that day, comfortable shoes, and a graffiti t-shirt. Anthony confesses that he notices what other people are wearing and the fabrics they choose and finds their fashion can bleed off on him.
As a busy entrepreneur, Anthony finds that what he wears can motivate him and push his creativity in his work. You can see Anthony’s personality reflected in any of his businesses. He is known for fine cocktails and food with traditional ingredients but a new flair that hits all the senses, and he strives for that in what he wears each day.
TRACI MILLER
If you have ever been to the Terramania shop on the Celina Square, then you know that owner Traci Miller is passionate about everything from the earth. Her store is bursting with natural fabrics, finishes, and botanicals. And meeting Traci in person, you will most likely find her wearing natural fabrics, while incorporating stones such as turquoise or bangles made with shed horns. She would describe her style in her store, home and fashion as all reflective of her love for nature. But Traci is no wallflower; on the day of our interview, she was wearing a crazy pair of lime green print Palazzo pants with a beautiful but comfortable cotton shirt.
Traci developed her love for fashion and fun during the colorful and over-the-top 1980s. She is a confessed Madonna junkie with a fish net hair bow, tall bangs, and lots of colors and layers. She is the youngest of three girls and had a lot of hand-me-downs to work with. She started designing her style early. While her choice of style influences has changed, her passion for marching to her own beat with her style has remained.
Traci prefers to mix old with new. You will likely find her wearing a pair of new, on-trend, comfortable sandals, dressed in a flowy skirt, a vintage top, and a mix of vintage and new jewelry. She subscribes to being comfortable and stylish and swears by a good pair of comfy boots.
MALACHI & NOA GRAYSON
Meet Malachi and Noa Grayson, a dynamic sibling duo from a sporty Celina family. Malachi, age 13, is a sports enthusiast in 7th grade, while his 11-year-old sister, Noa, is a multi-talented 6th grader. Their unique blend of athleticism and creativity has led them to a successful journey in modeling and acting, with a diverse portfolio of work.
Malachi's first love is anything athletic. This year, he plans to play football, basketball, and track in school. As you would imagine, his go-to style is anything athletic and comfortable. He is also into gaming and more sports, including NCAA football, Madden, and NBA2K. He would not confess to being a fashion influencer, but he likes what he likes, and comfort is a must.
Noa also has plenty of interests, including basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, Legos, and arts and crafts. Active and fun, Noa is a natural leader. She was on the House Council in elementary school and looks forward to being involved with student government in middle school. Like her brother, her style is defined by the activities she is involved in.
Both kids have always loved fashion and clothes. They started modeling and acting during the pandemic when everyone had more time at home. Being on set and seeing the newest fashion trends and how clients style their clothes has influenced how they dress. The wardrobe stylists always style clothes in cool ways they might not normally pick. But like most teens, their staple must-haves are hoodies or light jackets. Even when it’s hot outside.
