Style vs. Fashion

Influencer Suzanne Loonie weighs in on why style is about being yourself

Massachusetts-based influencer Suzanne Loonie focuses on style for 50-plus and tall women. We asked her to share what style means to her:

What's the difference between fashion versus style? If I love fashion, am I stylish? If I have great style, am I fashionable?

Oscar de la Renta said, “Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself”.

Style is personal. It evolves with age and life circumstances. What your style was in your twenties may or may not be your style today. Style is an individual's way of expressing themselves through clothes. Your style is a reflection of you.

Fashion, on the other hand, is based in a particular period in time and is about trends. Fashion changes. You may lean into some fashionable trends, but not others. Just because an item of clothing is on trend, it may not fit your personal style, but that does not make you any less fashionable.

My name is Suzanne and I am A Tall Drink of Style. I am all about timeless, classic style. I believe if you look good, you'll feel good in whatever style suits you!
