It’s not just a donation. It’s a promise. The Subaru Love Promise is Subaru's vision to show love and respect to all people at every interaction with Subaru and to be a positive force in their communities, with donations from initiatives like the Subaru Share the Love® Event, and with actions that set an example for others to follow.

Since 2008, Subaru’s Share the Love Event has given back nearly $200 million to charities nationwide. Locally, Subaru of Las Vegas partnered with Red Rock Search & Rescue as their legacy hometown charity in 2013 and has donated a total of $194,738.31 to the organization including more than $35,000 raised between November 19, 2020 and January 4, 2021.

For every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased during the Share the Love Event, Subaru donates $250 to a charity of the buyer’s choice. While there are several national charities to choose from, Red Rock Search & Rescue is frequently selected by Las Vegans.

“Subaru owners are very engaged with the outdoors. You’ll find them hiking, camping, and skiing. We want to have their backs should they ever need to be found,” said Burton Hughes, General Manager Subaru of Las Vegas.

Red Rock Search & Rescue assists families and local agencies by providing manpower to search for missing or lost individuals any time of the day or night. Founded in 2012 when hiker Ron Kirk went missing in Calico Basin, Red Rock Search & Rescue formed to help families search for their missing and lost loved ones. The organization is made up of approximately 200 highly skilled and trained volunteers from all walks of life, such as retired military, paramedics, off duty police officers, firefighters, and people with a heart for giving back to their community, and someone is on standby 24/7/365 to assist families who need their help, free of charge.

In addition to their significant financial contribution, Subaru of Las Vegas has given back to Red Rock Search & Rescue in other ways including vehicle donations, and many of the staff members at Subaru of Las Vegas have even volunteered their time to Red Rock Search & Rescue.

“Our community engagement comes from the heart. It’s not only part of the Subaru brand promise, making the community a better place is in the DNA of the Findlay Automotive group,” added Hughes.

Subaru’s pledge to give back goes above and beyond their support of national and local charities. They are also committed to protecting the environment through their Subaru Loves the Earth initiative. Along with their retailers across the country, Subaru works to reduce waste, safeguard resources for future generations, and preserve natural spaces – making real, meaningful commitments to these goals. All Subaru products are manufactured in zero-landfill production plants. From educating the public on small actions with big benefits to their current large-scale National Park Zero-Landfill initiative, Subaru works with local and national organizations to help preserve and protect our environment. In addition, Subaru currently offers Partial Zero Emission Vehicles, which provide significant smog-reducing environmental benefits and their first all-electric vehicle is set to launch in 2022.
