Suburban Waste Services

Luxury Garbage

My name is Bonzo. I live in Eden Prairie. I am a dog. I am assured quite often that I am a good boy.

Part of being a good boy is knowing who I can trust around my family. Mail carriers? They get woofed at. Morning joggers? They get woofed at. Deer? They get woofed at. Nothing in particular at three in the morning? I play it safe. I woof at it.

But the garbage man? He is good. He is my friend. He brings me treats. I look forward to getting treats from the garbage man and I love him.

It didn’t always used to be this way. Before my family hired Suburban Waste Services, there were no treats. Then they hired Suburban Waste Services. Now there are treats. That is why I like Suburban Waste Services.

My family seems to really like them, too, even though they don’t get treats. They are weird. They are lucky I am here to woof at things for them.

Suburban Waste Services was founded in Eden Prairie 17 years ago by Paul and Katie Rosland and Rick Sievers. What began as a two-driver, one-receptionist operation grew to cover the entire southwest metro – a testament to the quality of their service.

“The national operations are only driven by profit and productivity,” said Paul. “By forfeiting customer service, those companies created the niche that Suburban Waste Services was founded to fill: great service for fair prices, by the local guys. When you call us, a recorded voice won’t answer. And when we promise to pick up your trash on a certain day, we do.”

Suburban Waste Services’ signature touch, of course, is biscuits. Treats have gone a long way toward making sure dogs are polite to drivers. Just as importantly, treat deliveries provide something seldom associated with waste collection: hearty chuckles.

“It doesn’t take long until a dog starts getting excited at the sound of our truck approaching,” said Paul. “Watching your dog’s ears perk up when they sense our arrival is always a hoot. We get tons of funny photos of our little buddies waiting patiently by the curb, too.”

If a dog isn’t present to receive their treat in person, they’ll find it waiting for them on the bin’s lid. Truly a hallmark of first-rate waste removal!

“Many of our residential clients are relieved to find out that we offer commercial service as well,” said Chris White, account executive. “They’ve already experienced the Suburban Waste Services difference firsthand, and are eager to have us make their jobs easier. People have actually fought to get out of contracts with their previous waste collection service just so they could switch over to us.

“Running a business means dealing with constant unexpected challenges. You can count on us to overcome them. For example, when one of our clients opened a new apartment complex, they didn’t realize just how much cardboard and styrofoam packaging their tenants would bury them under. We sent a rear loader that very same day, and their problem disappeared just like that.

“There was another time when our client’s parking lot sank right in front of their trash containment area. It was more work to push the dumpster out to where it could be unloaded, but we were happy to go that extra distance.

“Effort. Communication. Versatility. Reliability. If you think you can’t get all of these from your commercial waste service, just give us a chance to change your expectations!”
