Summer in the Mason and Deerfield area is typically filled with treasured events like Red, White and Boom, Music in Mason, the Western & Southern Open and days spent at Kings Island, the Beach and the nearby Loveland Bike Trail. Families travel to Florida, the Carolinas and many other places for ocean views and playtime in the sand. While it’s hard to say what this summer will hold, it can still be fun to look back on memories of summers past and look forward to making memories in new ways.

“We love Mason in the summer and enjoy taking our kids, Carter (6) and Angela (2) to Kings Island. We have spent many Friday evenings at Music in Mason as well, where the kids have a blast dancing the night away,” says Dianna Knudsen, Mason resident and financial advisor with Edward Jones.

Your family may be staying close to home, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy yourselves! There are plenty of ways to have fun, explore our area, soak in the outdoors or try something new. You may even find ways to support local businesses and give back to the community while you’re at it.

We created this Summer Bucket List BINGO to help get your imagination rolling and keep everyone active all summer long. Try to complete them all and you’ll have a summer full of unique experiences.

What to do:

Enjoy a summer out and about in the Mason and Deerfield area! Start your morning with Duck Donuts or Frutta Bowls and relax in the Grove at Deerfield Towne Center. Picnic in one of the fourteen parks in Mason and Deerfield Township. Snap a photo at Natorp’s sunflower field or at the Butterfly Mural behind ROYAL Theatre Company and Muennich’s Inc. Auto Repair Service. For dinner, have a cookout featuring goodies from the Deerfield Farmers’ Market or visit a restaurant that opened in the past year such as Empanadas Aquí or Ichiban Japanese Cuisine. Have fun at home with an ebook from the Mason Public Library Cloud Library or create your own amusement park with a backyard obstacle course. Stroll in downtown Mason with an ice cream cone from Tucker’s Whippy Dip or purchase a DORA beverage from one of the 11 participating establishments. Support the community by making and delivering cards for seniors to local retirement communities like Cedar Village or donate non-perishables and toiletries to a local food pantry. Get outdoors for a bike ride at Mason Sports Park or visit a Warren County landmark such as Fort Ancient.
