Summer Volunteer Opportunities

Town Offers Myriad Ways to Help Others During the Break

As the middle of summer vacation approaches, many families are looking for meaningful activities to do together. We’ve rounded up some volunteer opportunities that are more than excellent boredom busters – they make an important impact on the community. What better way to fill the summer days than by helping others? From cleaning up the town, to helping children in need, to feeding families, outreach opportunities abound in and around Flower Mound.

Keep Flower Mound Beautiful

Keep Flower Mound Beautiful allows individuals to complete volunteer hours as their schedule allows. This flexible opportunity is perfect for students wanting to fulfill honor society hours. Volunteers pick up trash within the town limits and receive a letter verifying their hours served. Visit kfmb.org/community-service-program for guidelines and more information.

Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas

The Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas offers opportunities for college students looking to complete volunteer hours for courses. The organization offers training each semester for new volunteers. CAC also welcomes volunteers to assist with its Back-to-School program. Consider hosting a collection drive at your church, community group or business for needed items.  Visit cacnorthtexas.org for more information.

Christian Community Action (CCA)

CCA relies on the community to accomplish its important work. The organization offers myriad outreach opportunities during the summer and all year long. Volunteers can sort food in the food pantry; deliver meals to seniors through the Golden Angels program; and deliver meals for the Summer Outreach: Kids Eat Free program.
