A View from the Top

Relax in the summer sun at one of these rooftop or patio bars.

Happy Hour always pairs best with a view. So, cool off this summer at one of these Fort Worth watering holes with specialty rooftop and patio seating ranging from swanky western steakhouses to beer gardens with hot wings.

Atico- This Barcelona-inspired restaurant teases its beautiful rooftop views from the indoor bar with an expansive skylight overhead. Once outside, visitors are treated to cozy seating situated among potted succulents and a glass railing to not obstruct the view of Fort Worth. Sink into a sangria while taking in a sunset with someone special.

Branch and Bird- Situated atop the Sky Lobby Level of Frost Tower Fort Worth, this restaurant boasts a contemporary menu complete with cocktails and a beer and wine list. True to theme without being too obvious, the back of the patio seats is inlaid with intricate metal branch detailing. Don't sleep on this after work hangout spot and the opportunity to catch a happy hour special.

Reata- This downtown Fort Worth restaurant was so successful it expanded to the Cultural District. The interior is rustic with buffalo trophies adorning the walls next to paintings of feuding cowboys and Indians, and inviting leather lounge chairs are scattered throughout the dining hall. Seating on the roof is both covered and uncovered, with string lights weaving overhead in both spaces. Diners are treated to beautiful views while surrounded by hanging baskets of seasonal native plants, shrubs, and vine walls.

Wicked Butcher- Unique, comfortable style merges with upscale dining at this rooftop bar and restaurant in the art deco-styled Sinclair, Autograph Collection hotel. Billed as a premier steakhouse in the city, don't miss the food or Instagram-worthy views and interiors that beg to be experienced.

Press Cafe- This true southwest patio is expertly xeriscaped with pebbles underfoot and potted succulents assembled throughout the space. Patrons can choose to lounge on a bench, convalesce with friends around a fire pit, or eat a meal at a table, and, as an added bonus, this patio is dog friendly!

Rooftop Bar and Cinema at the Worthington- A truly unique experience, patrons on this rooftop get dinner and a show when the Fort Worth Cinema Club projects a movie from its monthly set. With a vibrant backdrop of red canopies, chartreuse astroturf, and living art walls, the amazing food and drink menu is the cherry-on-top at this can't-be-missed locale.

Second Rodeo- If you're looking for a true watering hole, look no further than this terrarium-esque patio bar. With a proper dining area in the front of the restaurant, once patrons walk past the bar, they enter a glass enclosed garden with picnic tables, trees adorned with twinkling lights, and a stage set for live performances. If guests continue walking, they enter an open-air patio. Be sure to order nachos and wings while you sip your favorite drink, and don't forget a trip to the bathroom for quirky surprise images in every stall.
