So many of our local businesses have been affected by the Covid19 virus. Some are open with limited hours or services, others have moved to online only, and yet others had to unfortunately close completely for now. You can read about many of our business and advertising partners in the pages of this special issue of Venice Lifestyle to learn about what they are doing. We know that we are all in this together and that better days are ahead! For now, let’s all take care of ourselves, stay safe, and help out our community and each other as best we can. We are in this together, Venice!
Paradise Grill Gives Away Hundreds Of Meals To Those In Need During The Crisis
Paradise Grill in Nokomis closed its doors on March 20th because of the crisis. Owner MaryBeth Hansen says that she and her staff have taken the closure as an opportunity to renovate and do some Spring-cleaning.
MaryBeth has truly been a great friend to Venice Lifestyle, and all of our community. Paradise Grill, a great neighborhood hangout and bar & grill, has given so much back over the years, from toys for tots, to fundraiser car shows, music events, bake-offs and fishing tournaments, all aimed at supporting local people in need and nonprofit organizations. So it comes as no surprise to anyone who knows MaryBeth to learn that during the crisis, she and her team are giving back yet again.
Every Friday evening, MaryBeth and Paradise Grill are preparing and giving away up to 1000 dinners to those in need.
“We have families in our community who need help and we have the ability to help,” MaryBeth says. “We served over 800 meals on Friday, April 17th, and will be serving frees meals the following Fridays as well.”
The meals are available for curbside pick-up between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and include a chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables and desert. On behalf of everyone in our area, Thank You MaryBeth and the whole team at Paradise Grill for all that you do!
Please call Paradise Grill to check the status of the Friday free meals.

Valenti Family Keeps Up Its 30 Year Tradition of Great Italian Food
For over 30 years, the Valenti family has been serving up traditional Italian cuisine to Venice diners at its namesake Valenti’s Ristorante, and for the past eleven years at their Allegro Bistro as well. Because of the pandemic, the Valentis decided to close Allegro Bistro, while serving takeout from both restuarants at their Valenti’s Ristorante location on Venice Avenue. “We love our customers so much,” says Cesare Valenti, son of the famous Nella Valenti. “Some of our customers have been dining with our family since we opened our first restaurant here in Venice. During this time, we are serving both menus for takeout at Valenti’s Ristorante, except for a few of the grilled items from the Allegro Bistro menu. The same care goes into our cooking as always, and we are following all health guidelines to keep our customers well fed and safe. We decided to do our takeout at Valenti’s Ristorante because it has a drive through area with an awning, and we can do curbside service there. Our family wants to wish the best to everyone in Venice during this tough time. We cannot wait to see you all back at Allegro Bistro and Valenti’s!” Valenti’s Ristorante (also serving Allegro Bistro’s menu), 1200 E. Venice Avenue. 941.484.1888. Valentisristorante.com
