I.D.E.A. Boutique - Inspired Designs by Elizabeth Anne was born in 2010 as a jewelry shop. All of the jewelry was handcrafted using natural and ethically-sourced gemstones by Elizabeth McComsey, I.D.E.A.'s fearless leader.
In the years that followed, I.D.E.A. Boutique grew into its current location at 108 W. Washington St. Elizabeth also began offering products in addition to jewelry, including natural skincare products, vegan handbags, essential oils, beeswax food wraps, reusable straws, vegan candles and more.
Now, Elizabeth just launched her own skincare line called Frankin’ Beautiful. "I named it this because each of the products contains some form of Frankincense; either an essential oil derived from one of the species of Boswellia tree or a powder ground from the sap itself," says Elizabeth.
Elizabeth chose Frankincense as the signature ingredient because it contains Boswellic Acid, which has also been called “liquid gold” for your skin. Boswellic Acid contains properties that are beneficial for wound healing and tissue remodeling because it increases your skin's ability to replace aging cells, which also helps to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and scars.
"One of my favorite products is the Lavender Rose Body Butter, "says Elizabeth. "As a mother of four children, I have struggled with stretch marks. I created this product to help them look less prominent."
Elizabeth continues: "What's funny is, I didn't go into this with the intention of creating a skincare line. I was just tired of trying to find affordable skincare products that didn't have a ton of questionable man-made chemicals or artificial fragrance in them, so I started researching how I could make my own. I purchased several college-level biochemistry and cosmetic formulation textbooks and really dove in headfirst. After a lot of research and trial and error, I ended up with several products that made a difference in my skin. I then figured that if these products could help me, they could help others too, and that’s how Frankin’ Beautiful was born.”

House of Flowers Boutique

Bubbles and Bows
Bubbles and Bows is a one-stop party shop and balloon bar located at 119 Lafayette St. Owner, Christy Overman, started the business as a side hustle while working a corporate job but transitioned to doing it full-time after being furloughed in 2020.
"I was kind of waiting for that kick in the butt to make the change," says Christy. "When COVID hit, it offered me the perfect opportunity to transition to Bubbles and Bows full time."
In addition to offering a wide variety of party supplies, Christy and her team create beautiful balloon installations for all kinds of events. "Whether it's a holiday, birthday party or a private event, our balloon installations are completely customizable," Christy explains.
Bubbles and Bows also offers build-your-own-bouquets for every holiday, where people come into the shop and choose from a selection of blown-up balloons to make their own balloon bouquet.
"It's really fun to see all of the balloon bouquets that people make," says Christy. "Kids especially love to do it."
