5 Ways to Support Local Business

The Heart of Our Community

1. LIKE, COMMENT AND SHARE POSTS

If you don’t own your own business, it might be hard to understand why this is so important.  In one word, algorithms!  It means that posts that don’t get a good response, don’t get shown to as many people. In the world of social media marketing, it’s incredibly important to get your posts seen online. Support local business by commenting, liking, and loving on posts and sharing them as soon as you see them!

2.  BE THEIR CUSTOMER, OR AT LEAST THEIR CHEERLEADER.

Of course, one obvious way to support local business is to actually be their customer.  Naturally, if you aren’t their target market, or their product is of no use to you, no one expects you to buy it. But, if they’re selling a product or service you use anyway, consider giving them a chance! If they aren’t offering something you’re interested in at all, having an extra cheerleader is always appreciated!

3.  LEAVE A REVIEW

Just make it a habit to leave reviews!  All businesses thrive on them!  This is one of the best ways to help local businesses.

4. REFERRALS

Show your support through word of mouth. Talking about a local business, and recommending them to friends and family, will help them get new customers and hopefully get more people to spread the word.

5. SIGN UP FOR THEIR NEWSLETTERS

Newsletters are a great way to stay up-to-date with business news, new products and information on products or services. Help local businesses grow their email list by signing up and sharing the link to encourage others to do so, too.

"When you buy from a local business, you are not helping a CEO buy a third vacation home. You are helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey, a mom put food on the table, a dad pay a mortgage or a student pay for college." unknown
