Bringing Peace

Interior Delights Big Haul Giveaway

Interior Delights’ timeless modern farmhouse décor has even more fans nationwide than locally. The website allows people near and far to order products that can be shipped right to their front doors. The Facebook group, ID Gathers, connects people all over the country too. “It is a lovely place for all the friends of ID to gather, uplift and help each other decorate their homes,” Stacey Foster, Interior Delights designer, explains.

This summer, Interior Delights owner Sarah Fennell and (title) took their Big Haul Makeover idea one step further. During the four years the store has been opened, many close relationships have grown from their loyal customer base.

“We create community,” Sarah attests. “They see how we put things together and they want to be a part of it.”

“Customers often bring in photos of their kitchen or living space and ask us to create a centerpiece,” Stacey says.

The women load up their big van style a space in a home. They suggest paint colors, furniture, lighting, and décor based on the homeowners’ preference. Customers can decide what they want to keep after living with it for 24 hours.

The $10,000 Big Haul Giveaway was announced on ID Gathers and participants could post videos of their spaces and share their stories.

Lacretia and Dustin of (City), Alabama, lost their only daughter, Destiny to cancer.

“I rarely cried while Destiny was sick,” Lacretia says. “I was in fight mode. We were going to beat it. Since she has been gone, I have never cried so much in my life.”

Dustin has been there every step of the way. “I represent her every day I wake up. I live with a focus on purpose and value.”

“The father-daughter bond (between Dustin and Destiny) was so strong,” Lacretia reminiscences. “Dustin is my rock.”

The story touched the hearts of the ID Gathers community and they Lacretia and Dustin won the contest.

“The entire process was such a special thing to be involved with!” Stacey says. “We fell in love with Lacretia and Dustin and their story. It was an honor to be part of their journey. Destiny was such a precious part of their lives and heart.”

Sarah and Stacey loaded up the van and drove to Alabama to create a memorial room, relaxing guest room and inviting deck. The angel wings and butterflies in the memorial room provide a soothing backdrop for healing. “This is going to bring us so much peace,” Lacretia says.

The black and gold chairs in the guest room were inspired by the earrings Lacretia was wearing in the video.

“The main reward for us as a team were the relationships that were made and for Lacretia and Dustin to feel blessed with beautiful new spaces that will bring comfort, healing and joy. It was a sweet time full of shared tears laughter and honoring a very special little girl’s life,” Stacey reflects.

The ID Gathers Facebook page is a great way to get involved and learn more about next year’s giveaway and to enter.

"Celebrating life, family and friends in an encouraging and beautiful way is what Interior Delights is all about and the first Big Haul Giveaway certainly delivered. “It’s quite remarkable that a space(s) in your home can have the power to do that. That was what our hope was for Lacretia and Dustin. It was certainly a DELIGHT to be a part of.”
