Gather Around a Gorgeous Table this Holiday Season

Something magical happens when we gather around a table with friends and family. The laughter and stories flow almost as easily as the wine. Even the food tastes better when it is shared with the people we love. Whether your holiday table is set for two or twelve, elevate your tablescapes this season. Consider these decorating ideas that will make you and your guests fall in love with your autumn table.

+ Bring the Outdoors In

Natural elements like pinecones and fall leaves make beautiful (and free!) additions to the fall table. Accessorize with flowers and sprigs of greenery. Pumpkins and gourds of all colors add visual interest to a fall-themed table.

+ Gather Around an Edible Centerpiece

The centerpiece is the star of the table. Fruit sculptures, appetizer plates and cheese boards are pretty and great for pre-dinner snacking. Charcuterie boards are gaining popularity for their variety and healthy options. As an added bonus, you’ll spend less time serving and more time at the table, enjoying your guests.

+ Create Height

Especially at big, holiday dinners, space on the table is valuable real estate. Take your table dressings vertical to optimize elbow room. Layer the linens. Stack the dishes at each place setting using a variety of chargers and plates of multiple sizes. Lift the serving platters to maximize space. Make sure that you can still see across the table over the decorations.

+ Add a Personal Touch

Handwritten place or menu cards add a personal touch that make your guests feel extra special. Let your personality shine!

+ Set Up Self-Serve Stations

Make self-service wine and dessert tables separate from the dining table. This arrangement frees guests from the table and encourages mingling and conversation between courses.

+ Put Safety First

Keep candle flames away from flower arrangements and other flammables. Do not leave cooking food unattended.

Set your table for success for this fall’s dinner parties. Relish the time you get together with loved ones around your gorgeous table.
