The Sherman Shadowcats bring one of the newest opportunities for residents to experience excitement and family fun. Sherman Sports and Entertainment was started by Tim and Andrea Woodland, who bring their lifelong passion and love of baseball to the Texoma area. The Sherman Shadowcats are the newest baseball team in the area, and they invite you to experience the excitement of local summer baseball. According to co-owner and Vice President of Sales Andrea Woodland, the Shadowcats held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in November 2023.
Tim Woodland, co-owner of the Sherman Shadowcats, says, “We are committed to bringing an inexpensive family-friendly entertainment venue to Sherman, Texas, and what better way than to do it through the game of baseball.” According to Andrea Woodland, baseball has always been a part of their lives. Originally from the Houston area, the Woodlands had an opportunity to move to the Texoma area and start a summer collegiate baseball team. “We are so excited to be a part of this community. Everyone in Sherman has been incredibly supportive, and we want to showcase what the organization has accomplished while providing quality baseball and wholesome, fun entertainment to Sherman and the Texoma area. Even my teenage son noticed how different it is to live in Sherman compared to when we lived in the Houston area. He told me it is refreshing that everyone here is so nice.”
Andrea was also eager to point out what the Shadowcats bring to the community. “I think one of the things fans will see is that there are so many fan experiences available. You get to see college players before they gain recognition, and they are incredibly approachable. We have lots of meet-and-greets. Being a fan of the Shadowcats is a very intimate and personal experience. There are numerous opportunities to get to know the players. Because our ballpark is smaller than traditional professional ballparks, you are very close to the action. You can hear and see everything close up."
She continues, "One thing that I think is different is that players live with host families. As you can see, much of our organization is centered around family. We are a very family-friendly and affordable establishment. It is such a great feeling to be a part of something so wholesome and family-oriented."
The Woodlands share that they have a great staff, knowledgeable coaches, and outstanding players. They are excited to show the community the improvements made at the field, providing fans with an even more comfortable and enjoyable experience. Ann hopes that "everyone will come out to experience the excitement of local baseball and support the black and Vegas gold.”
Tim Woodland adds, “Sports bring people together, and that is exactly what we intend to do. We are Sherman proud!”
