Jackie Filetti remembers being a busy professional trying to get her makeup just right every morning. “I would get so frustrated between my eyebrows and my eyeliner….one side would always be wider, and it was such a struggle! So, I decided to check out this thing called permanent makeup,” she shares. “I had my brows done and I loved it. It was a game changer because when I woke up each day, they were ready and I didn't have to do a thing.”

Jackie loved the benefits so much, she pursued certification and then opened Cosmetic Artistry by Jackie Filetti earlier this year. “They call it permanent makeup, but technically, it is semi-permanent makeup,” she explains. “The facial cosmetic makeup tattoo uses organic and vegan pigment for coloring, not ink like body tattoos. It's safe to have on your face and it also goes just to the superficial layers of your skin.” Facial cosmetic makeup tattoos last 2-5 years depending on types of cleansers used on the area, exposure to the elements, and use of sunscreen.

Jackie specializes in eyebrows, eyelash enhancement, lip blush, eyeliner, and scalp enhancement for thinning hair or receding hair lines. Every service is customizable and starts with a consultation so that Jackie can get an understanding of the client’s vision and desired outcome. She helps the client decide on colors, then she maps out what she is planning to do and gets the client’s approval each step of the way.

For those concerned about the discomfort of having the procedures done, Jackie says, “It just depends on the client and their pain tolerance. Many clients actually fall asleep while I'm doing their brows, but then I have some clients who are super sensitive.” Jackie offers numbing cream to help with discomfort that some clients experience.

Taking into consideration healing time, Jackie suggests having any procedures done at least seven days before a big event. Cosmetic Artistry is perfect for busy professionals who want to save time getting ready each day, stay at home moms who want to look their best even when they have their hands full with kids, and anyone in between. It’s also a great option for those who experience poor eyesight or unsteady hands and have trouble applying makeup smoothly.
