Southern Colorado’s most exciting aviation event returns this month, promising two days of flying and fun. On September 19 and 20, military aircraft, historic warbirds and aerobatic performers will take to the skies over a section of the Colorado Springs Airport for the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow. Expect spectacular shows by the U.S. Air Force F-35A and the U.S. Navy’s F/A-18 Super Hornet demonstration teams, Wings of Blue USAF parachute team, a B-25 Mitchell, P-51 Mustang, F7F Tigercat, F3F Flying Barrel, SBD Dauntless, AD-5 Skyraider and many more.
In addition to aircraft demonstrations and displays, this family-friendly event will feature educational exhibits, numerous food vendors and opportunities to meet aviation professionals and members of the military. Proceeds from the biennial event will benefit three Colorado Springs museums that strive to preserve military history and educate future generations: the National Museum of World War II Aviation, the Peterson Air & Space Museum and the 4th Infantry Division Museum. The airshow is a partnership between its board of directors, Colorado Springs Airport, Colorado Springs Sports Corporation and the National Museum of World War II Aviation.
Tickets are available for purchase online only at pprairshow.org. Bring your own chairs and blankets, or rent a chair when checking out online. General admission parking is free; parking add-ons are available at an additional cost for guaranteed parking spaces closer to the entrance.
