Through one drop of blood, health practitioner Barbara Kerr can show clients 20 possible anomalies in their individual health.

As a certified live blood cell microscopist and holistic health practitioner, Barbara offers from her downtown Columbia office the following health services:  live blood cell analysis, T-Shock fat freezing, toning, Cryofacials, ALCAT food sensitivity testing, BEMER micro-circulation therapy, BioMat far infrared therapy and nutritional counseling.

"In the past, I spent 13 years as a patient, wanting to be a nurse. I was so ill and swallowing handfuls of pills," recalls Barbara, who adjusted her overall approach when she discovered a booklet entitled Two Months to Live.

"That's when I learned more about what we put into our bodies is critical, that our health is not just about genetics," she adds.

Barbara's nearly four-decade battle with Crohn's disease forced and prompted her to learn firsthand about the human body's various responses to food, beverages, fatigue, stress and overall health. Her personal experiences led to her passion for helping others who struggle with inflammatory bowel diseases, as well as people who desire to be healthier, in general.

She says God opened some doors for her years ago, and she vowed to spend the rest of her life helping people get the health information and support that she, herself, desperately needed earlier in her life but couldn't find.

In business since 2014, Barbara offers practical, strategic approaches to health, incorporating nutrition, exercise, rest and the proper way to replenish bodies with water.

"I focus on each person's approach to life, rather than first focusing on one illness or specific parts of the body. Acting as an investigator, in a sense, holistic approaches consider the whole person, and how he or she interacts with his or her environment. It's not to be confused with New Age alternatives, such as crystal gems, for their vibrations and proposed healing properties," Barbara says.

"Not every person responds in the same way, so it's helpful to have more than a hammer in your health toolbox," she suggests.

Barbara now lives on a grain-free, gluten-free and dairy-free diet, drinking charcoal nightly and seeking simplified protein from grass-fed animals.

"I do miss bread," she confides.

Regarding nutritional considerations, she created vegan/vegetarian cooking programs for Three Angels Broadcasting Network. She also authored two vegan/vegetarian Taste of Health cookbooks in 1999 and 2001. Additionally, she created and produced radio health programs that currently air on WBAJ-AM 890 in Columbia and other cities. She can be heard locally on WBAJ on Tuesday mornings from 11:45 a.m. to noon.

Barbara organized and hosted cooking classes for church groups and community organizations. She's also been the main speaker at Women's Ministries conferences, in addition to giving health talks/demonstrations during month-long evangelistic crusades in Alexandria, Romania; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

For two weeks during November, Barbara will be in Pakistan to supply bibles and teach important health classes to local Pakistanis, such as how to clean and treat muddy water for drinking purposes.

Interested in always giving back, Barbara hopes to change the world one bite at a time.
